When starting the PADI education you're schooled in the tradition of loging your dives to document that you're up-2-date on your diving skills. Also, it's a means of keeping memories from past dives. One unfortunate aspect of this paper-based version of the log book is that, it can get lost and only has a limited amount of dives for you to register. Also, there's an economical cost of investing in new log-books.With this "module" for Drupal I hope to create an online version of the PADI log book with email notification for buddies to confirm the dives as well as image uploads and locations on Google Maps.Overall my online PADI log book will feature

  • Titel of dive
  • Dive numer
  • Date
  • Site
  • Location
  • Surface interval
  • Preassure group (1)
  • Bottom time
  • Safety stop
  • Preassure group (2)
  • Dive buddy information (name, cert. number, educational level and email)
  • Time up/down
  • Pressure in bottles before and after
  • Visibility UW
  • Temperature (UW)
  • Description of the dive
  • Image attachments, fx. from the dive
  • Google Map integration

Any other suggestions? Drop a comment :-)

Hi Alex!

Thx for you comment.

Yes, when I get the time I'll do my best to develop a Drupal module.

I'll post an update to this comment (and on the website) when it's done :-)

Cheers!

By the way - looks very good at www.sunkendreams.com.

Can see you've been at Dominica and Indonesia - looks like a very nice dive locations and I would personally LOVE to go there one day!

Cheers,

Henrik

Hi guys,

Sorry, haven't been on it for a looong time, since I've had other obligations as technical adviser in a new diving travel agency.

Will drop a comment as soon as it's up and running.

In the mean time you can look at our diving destinations at www.blueventure.net

...and please request a diving package, HAHA!

Dive logbook

By Maarten (not verified) | 2010.02.22- 14:25

Hello,

I created a logbook for diving on my own website. In the logbook is also a google map with the dives and info per dive i made.

I didn't use the node in Drupal, but worked around it.

Can you send me a link to your logbook?

Hi Maarten, I haven't really

By admin | 2010.03.11- 08:45

Hi Maarten,

I haven't really had the time to convert my divelog datatypes to a module.

But if you want I can send you the CCK installation script? That way you can create DiveLog through the Create Content menu.

BR
Henrik
